Mar 5th - Reflection and wish list

Before coming to Paris on this trip, other than seeing and staying with our daughter, I had planned to visit museums other than the must see Louvre which I had done before. However after arrival in Paris I found mysellf walking outside, enjoying the city and the outskirts, rather than visiting museums. Perhaps there is a need to come to Paris again.

If there is going to be a next trip to France, I would surely want to see more museums, visit more chateau (castles) and visit Britanny, the North-Western region and the beaches there.

Mar 5 - Lunch at Noisy Le Grand, packed, stayed at hotel near Orly airport

Aiman, another student from Malaysia, came to see us this morning at the apartment. We had met him last year in KL. Unfortunately we forgot to have a picture taken together in the apartment.

We had lunch at La Tour Hassan, a Morrocan restaurant. We ordered cuscus royal (lamb, chicken, beef), cuscus legume (vegetarian), tangine chicken with prunes and almond (a hot-grilled-plate - delicious).

After packing, we set off to stay at a budget hotel at Orly Rungis near Orly airport so that we don't have to rush tomorrow for our departure to Kuala Lumpur. It was done through an ACCOR hotels reservation system www.accor.com
Some shots while waiting for a bus connection to hotel and the area around the hotel.

We were supposed to join some Malaysian students for a halal French cusine for dinner tonight. But due the time taken to travel to our hotel was longer than expected, we had to cancel the plan.

Dinner for us was thus a delivery order from a halal Tunisian restaurant consisting of chicken wings with fries, pasta with salmon, cheese burger and coke. Crepe (french version of pancake) was for dessert.
What a French finale :)

See you in Malaysia

Mar 4 - Friday prayer at Grand Mosque of Paris. Long Walk along River Seine. Jardin des Plantes..

Friday prayer at the Grand Mosque of Paris.
The mosque was full, people (including women) had to pray outside the prayer hall, in the gandens and courtyard.
Snapshots after the prayer.

A couple of girls playing table-tennis at a courtyard near the mosque.

I rode the metro from the Place Monge station near the mosque to station Gare d'Austrlitz to begin a long walk along the river Sein. It was a beautiful scenery all along. I ended up near the Notre Dame. Stopped along the way at the big Jardin des Plantes - it was both a big park and a Museum of Nature.
Inside the gare (station)

Institut du Monde Arabe - Stunning museum and exhibition centre devoted to Arab Culture.

Under one of the bridges. Paris has its share of homeless people.

The old and the new.

Two children playing in a small park on the river bank.

In Paris people don't hide their affection for one another even in public.

A romantic couple on the bridge.
They were hugging and kissing happily.
When I asked them if I could take a picture of them, they obliged without hesitation.
